What cookies are
A cookie is a small text file that a website asks your browser to store on your device, so it can remember something about you between pages or visits, such as a preference or a login. Cookies set by the site you are visiting are first-party cookies. Cookies set by another company's domain are third-party cookies.
What this website sets
This website, wearehectare.com, sets no cookies of its own. It uses these services to understand how the site is used and how well our advertising works:
- Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics. Google Analytics tells us which pages are read and how people arrive. It runs without analytics cookies until you allow them. Google's privacy policy applies.
- Meta pixel and Microsoft Advertising. These tell Meta (Facebook and Instagram) and Microsoft (Bing) when someone who saw one of our adverts visits the site, so we know which adverts work. Meta's privacy policy and Microsoft's privacy statement apply.
- PostHog. Product analytics we run ourselves, on our own servers in the EU, recording which pages are visited and what is clicked.
Three other things on the site can involve other companies:
- Videos. Articles embed videos from YouTube. Nothing from YouTube loads until you press play. When you do, the video is served from youtube-nocookie.com, YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode, which does not store cookies to track you across sites. YouTube's own privacy policy applies to the video itself.
- The contact form. The contact page uses Cloudflare Turnstile to tell people from automated spam. It loads only on that page and checks signals from your browser, such as its IP address and user agent, which Cloudflare treats as strictly necessary for detecting bots and does not use to identify or track you. Cloudflare's Turnstile privacy addendum applies. What you send through the form is emailed to our team and handled as our privacy policy describes.
- The Hectare Trading app. Links to trading.wearehectare.com take you to the app, which has its own cookies and preferences, covered when you sign in.
